The Roads to
My
wife and I decided to go into Santiago de Cuba and stay at 3 different Casa Particulars
which are like our Canadian Bed and Breakfasts. You have to pay for breakfast
or any other meals but it is very reasonable.
The
room cost $28 Canadian a night and breakfast is $5 or $6 each, lunch is about
the same and dinner is around $7 or $8. The food in these private houses is
usually as good or better than the 4 star Hotels.
There
are also Cuban Paladars to eat at, they are Cuban restaurants in private houses
and some of them have very nice surroundings and serve excellent food at
reasonable prices. Usually young men on the street will tell you where they are
located. The best ones are well known and you can find some listed on Santiago
de Cuba websites.

Santiago
de Cuba Casa Particulars are plentiful as are Havana Casa Particulars. It is a
good way to meet real Cuban people that are more than happy to accommodate your
needs. See the Case Cuba website for
links to Casa Particulars in Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Trinidad, Cienfuegos and
other Cuban cities and towns. Once you stay in a Cuban Casa Particular and eat
in a Havana paladar or Santiago de Cuba paladar you will be happy you tried
this new experience.
